Why does nobody talk about the way you hold a knee kicker?

I was working on a big job in a house over in Springfield last week, maybe 800 square feet of plush. My boss came by to check on me and just watched for a minute. He said, 'You're fighting the carpet, not moving it.' I had my hand way up on the neck of the kicker, pushing down hard. He showed me to grip it lower, near the pad, and use more of a rocking shove than a straight punch. The stretch got way smoother and my shoulder stopped hurting by the end of the day. Has anyone else had a boss point out a basic thing you were doing wrong for years?

Ever think @karenlee's hammer grip affects your kicker form?

Had a buddy who swore by a death grip on his driver, couldn't figure out why he kept slicing. Switched to a lighter hold and his shots straightened out overnight.

My old foreman in Toledo had the same talk about hammer grips.
