Vent: Had to pick between a 6-foot power stretcher and a knee kicker for a tight hallway job in a 1920s bungalow.

Went with the kicker for maneuverability, but the pad was so compressed it took three passes to get it drum-tight. What's your go-to method for those narrow, old-house spaces?

Ugh, that's the worst. Honestly, I'll sometimes use a smaller power stretcher head (like a 2-foot one) if I can get it in there.

I mean, is it really that bad? I've seen way worse carpet jobs come out fine.
