Question about a tricky crawl space job in Spokane
My old boss, Frank, always said to never use a 50-foot coax run without a signal booster in a split-level house. I ignored him on a job last week in the South Hill area, thinking the signal loss would be minimal. Sure enough, the customer called back with pixelation on two TVs after I left. Has anyone else run into this with longer pulls in older homes, and what's your go-to fix?

Ugh, this is why I hate taking shortcuts. It's like when I skip preheating the oven because I'm in a rush, and then the food comes out all wrong. That little voice in your head is usually right. Frank knew his stuff, and now you gotta go back and do the job right anyway, which takes twice as long. Always feels like a dumb tax.

Man I feel this but gotta say, sometimes that voice is just fear talking. Like skipping preheat CAN work if you're just throwing in frozen fries, but you'd never do it for a cake. The real trick is knowing which rules you can bend. Frank might always preheat, but maybe for some tasks a "good enough" start saves more time than a perfect one.
