My crimper died mid-job yesterday and I had to use a rusty backup
I was running Cat6 in a basement remodel in Akron when my Klein crimper just snapped at the hinge. First time that's happened in 12 years of doing this. Had to drive 20 minutes back to the truck to grab my old Ideal from the junk drawer. It worked but the crimps looked like garbage and I had to redo three ends. Anyone else have a main tool fail on them right in the middle of a tight deadline?

Jeez, that's rough... I had a buddy who was doing a big office pull in Cleveland and his impact driver just gave out completely halfway through a day. He had to borrow some random guy's old beat-up DeWalt from the truck next door, thing sounded like it was gonna explode every time he squeezed the trigger. Took him twice as long and he ended up having to come back the next day to finish. He still talks about that job like it was some kind of war story... I swear, tools know when you're under pressure.

Pulled an all-nighter running Cat5e in a school once and my punchdown tool gave out on the last 50 drops. Ended up using a flathead screwdriver and some pliers to finish the job, took forever and my hands were wrecked. Still have that screwdriver in my bag as a reminder to always carry a backup.
