My new fountain pen bled through three pages of my Leuchtturm journal

I got a Pilot Metropolitan with Noodler's bulletproof black ink, thinking it would be perfect for headers. I wrote a big monthly title, and the ink soaked right through that page and the next two. It left dark ghosts on the next spread, ruining a tracker I had set up. Has anyone found a good fountain pen ink that actually works with thinner paper?

Honestly, that's more about the paper than the ink (Leuchtturm is just too thin for wet pens). You might want to try a drier ink like Pelikan 4001, but a different notebook would fix it for good.

Ugh, tell me about it... is there anything more annoying than a great pen getting ruined by paper that can't handle it? I've had the same problem and it feels like such a waste. Swapping notebooks was the only thing that really worked for me too, even after trying a bunch of different inks. That feathering and bleed-through just kills the whole writing experience.

So what's the actual paper weight where feathering stops being a problem? Leuchtturm is 80gsm, and that clearly fails. Is there a known good threshold, or does it depend too much on the specific paper coating?
