My sister's comment about my "subscription budget" actually made me rethink everything

She said I was spending $45 a month on streaming services I barely watch and that money could go to my emergency fund instead. So I cancelled three of them last week and put that $45 straight into savings has anyone else had a relative call them out like that?

Man your sister might be onto something. I used to think subscription stuff was harmless but after adding up what I was wasting on crap I don't even watch it really hit me different.

Honestly @grantnelson I get why you feel that way but I actually don't mind subscriptions that much. For stuff like Netflix or Spotify I'm paying a small amount each month instead of dropping a ton upfront for stuff I'll barely use. Tbh the real trick is just being honest with yourself about what you actually watch.
