My sister pointed out my 'emergency fund' was just a pile of cash in a drawer
She said, 'That's not a plan, that's a hiding spot,' and it clicked that I was losing value to inflation. Has anyone else moved their savings to a high-yield account after a wake-up call?

Ha, yeah that hits close to home. I did the exact same thing for years until I finally moved it to a high-yield account after a buddy set me straight. Feels way better knowing it's actually growing a little, right?

My drawer was my high-yield plan (for dust bunnies).

Used to think a junk drawer was just lazy. Your post made me see it as a holding zone for things I might actually need later. Now I keep my spare keys and tape in there instead of letting it fill with pure clutter. Changed my whole view on what "organized" means.
