After running both on a Haas VF-2 for a month at our shop in Detroit, the synthetic stuff kept the machine cleaner but I swear I burned through end mills twice as fast - anyone else see a tradeoff like that?
I spent $15 on a used copy of The Tommyknockers last month thinking it was just a classic alien invasion tale, but the ending had the main character literally turn into a glowing alien tree and I was so confused. That last chapter made me question if I missed something or if King just lost his mind after too many beers. Has anyone else had a book ending that made you feel like you wasted your money or were you actually into it?
He was ranting about how much time he saves on his iPad, but I've been using a physical journal for 3 years and the thought of switching to a screen just feels wrong, has anyone else had that moment where you question your whole setup?
I had a snake plant in my kitchen for about 2 years and it always looked kinda sad and droopy. Last week my neighbor came over and saw me watering it every Sunday and she just laughed. She said I was basically drowning the thing because snake plants like to dry out completely between waterings. I had no idea I was supposed to wait until the soil was bone dry maybe every 3 or 4 weeks instead of weekly. Now I feel like an idiot but at least the plant might survive if I stop. Has anyone else kept killing a plant just by giving it too much water?
I was framing out the roof and kept grabbing these joist hanger brackets from the box, figured maybe 20 or so. After I finished and counted the empties, I had gone through 47 of the things for one small shed roof. Has anyone else lost count of small hardware on a project like that?
Spent 45 minutes yesterday tracking down a signal drop that turned out to be a corroded splice from a phone line install back in 1988. Has anyone else run into these time wasters on residential jobs?
I spent half a year thinking I had 3 months of expenses saved up for emergencies. Then my water heater blew up last month and the $1200 repair wiped out half of it. That's when it hit me - my emergency fund was just sitting in my regular checking account getting spent on takeout and random Amazon buys. I finally moved it to a separate high-yield account I can't access from my phone. Took way too long to figure out that out of sight really is out of mind. Has anyone else made this dumb mistake or am I the only one?
I ran paper filters for about 3 years and always felt like my engine was a little choked up on hot days. Last fall I finally tried a K&N style reusable filter to see if all the hype was real. After a month, my highway mpg went from 18 to 21 just on my daily 30 mile commute. Throttle response felt snappier too, especially merging onto I-25. The downside is cleaning it every 50k miles is a bit messy with the oil spray. Anyone else notice a real difference swapping intake filters on older trucks?
I left it on the counter like always. 78% humidity according to my little gauge. Next morning it looked like something from a swamp. No mold, just gray and smelled like acetone. Had to toss the whole jar. Anyone else's starter freak out when the weather shifts suddenly?
My tabby just turned 14 and now she sits in the bathroom sink at 3 AM staring at the faucet. She never did this before, not even once in all those years. Anyone else have a senior cat suddenly pick up a random routine?
