Stop booking flights on Tuesday just because someone told you it's cheapest
I keep seeing people in travel groups swear by the Tuesday booking rule like it's some kind of law. But I actually tracked my own flight searches for about 4 months last year, checking prices on different days for the same routes to Chicago, Nashville, and Portland. Turns out the cheapest deals popped up on Wednesdays and Saturdays way more often than Tuesdays for me. The whole Tuesday thing is just leftover info from when airlines used to post sales on Monday nights. You're probably leaving money on the table if you're only checking one day. Has anyone else actually tested this and seen different results?

My buddy swears by checking late Sunday night. He snagged a round trip to Denver for $140 while his coworker paid $220 for the same flight booking on a Tuesday.

Lean into your buddy's late Sunday strategy and pair it with incognito mode browsing. In my experience, airlines and booking sites track your cookies and bump prices if they see you checking the same route repeatedly. Clear your cache or use a private window, then hit it late Sunday when competition is low and see if that $220 trip drops closer to $140.

@grayw32 What kind of phone or computer are you using for incognito mode? I've heard some people say it doesn't matter if you're using an airline app since they track your device ID anyway. Might be worth comparing notes to see if the strategy really works across all devices.
