I was reading a library book on food waste and it said a family of four throws away about $1,500 worth of groceries a year.
Found this old book at the library in Springfield, the one by the courthouse. It was all about using up scraps. That number really hit me, you know? I started looking at my own trash can and felt kind of bad. Now I'm trying to save veggie peels for stock and use up leftovers faster. What's your best trick for making sure nothing goes to waste? I need more ideas.

Ever try the freezer trick for wilting veggies before they go bad?

Yeah, it's part of that whole shift from just throwing stuff out to seeing what you can save. I'm doing it with herbs and bread ends now too.
