The Before and After on my $12 Zipper is WILD
I made a Jinx cosplay for a con last fall and used a $12 zipper from a discount bin at Joann's. After 4 hours of wear at the con in Portland, the teeth literally started separating and the whole back gaped open. I switched to a $6 YKK zipper I found at a thrift store and it's held up through 3 more events without a single issue. Has anyone else had a cheap zipper ruin a whole look mid-con?

Blame it on the zipper and move on. Cheap zippers are a disaster waiting to happen at a con. YKK is the only way to go for anything you actually want to wear more than once.

Learned that lesson the hard way myself at a con in Seattle... @wilson.jesse is totally right, YKK is the gold standard and I swear by them now for anything with moving parts.
