Old shower curtain rings turned into armor straps, my 3am idea last Tuesday
I was building my knight cosplay for a con in March and needed pauldron straps. Fabric stores wanted like $15 for webbing and buckles. Then I looked at my shower curtain rings collecting dust. Popped 12 of them off, spray painted them silver, and used zip ties to connect them to foam plates. Total cost maybe $2. They actually hold up fine under movement, just don't do a backflip in them lol. Has anyone else repurposed random house stuff like this? I'm now eyeing my old belt loops for a belt pouch setup.

Zipties might fake the look but real armor needs stitching or rivets, so that rig will probably snap by lunch.
