Foam clay or worbla for a chest piece? I went foam clay and regret it

Spent $14 on foam clay for my T-60 chest armor instead of the $8 worbla sheet, and after 3 weekends of sculpting, the cracks showed up at the con in Dallas before noon, so now I'm curious who else has had better luck with one over the other?

Wait, is the cracking thing common with foam clay on chest pieces? I used to think worbla was overpriced and too stiff for armor, but then I tried foam clay on a pauldron and it dented just from me leaning on a table at a con. Swapped to worbla for my next chest piece and even though heating it takes longer, it holds its shape way better and I don't have to stress about random stress fractures showing up mid-day.
