The window display with all the bird books made me count something
I was walking past Chapter One Books in Portland last Tuesday and they had this display of every bird guide they stock, like 30 copies all fanned out. It got me curious, so I counted how many actual bird species are in Oregon and it's over 500. I always figured birdwatching was just old folks with binoculars, but apparently the local store runs a monthly bird book club with 12 people in it. Has anyone else gotten into a niche topic just from staring at a bookstore window too long?
