Update: That book I was skeptical about actually wrecked me good

Started reading "A Little Life" two weeks ago. Picked it up after seeing it on every crying book list. Thought people were just being dramatic. Finished it last night at 2 AM. Soaked a whole pillow with tears. That Jude character... I can't even talk about him without getting choked up again. Has anyone else had a book completely break them when they thought they were immune?

Used to roll my eyes at people saying a book wrecked them, but yeah, I was wrong. That one got me too.

Oh which one was it for you? I had that moment with A Little Life a few years back and honestly I still think about it more than I'd like to admit. It's weird how a book can just sit with you and make you feel things you weren't ready for. I get the eye roll thing though I used to be the same way until I found myself ugly crying on the couch at 2am. Hope you're doing okay after it, some of them really do leave a mark.
