Wasted $80 on that 'complete' book club kit for Circe and it was a total ripoff
I bought that big box set with discussion cards, maps, and a guide for Circe and it turned out the cards just repeated basic plot points you'd get from a free SparkNotes. The map had a glaring error where Aiaia was placed in the wrong sea. Has anyone else regretted buying a premium book club pack and what did you get burned on?

Whoa, wait - they put Aiaia in the wrong sea?! That's not just a small typo, that's like a total geography fail for a book all about islands and the ocean. I got burned on a "deluxe" set for The Night Circus once that came with a scratch-and-sniff card for the smells in the book, but it just smelled like cheap candle wax and gave me a headache. For $80 you'd think they'd at least get the map right, that's basic stuff.

Three sheets to a wind, that's pretty bad but I kind of get it from a production standpoint. They probably had a map template and just plopped Aiaia in the closest sea without double checking the actual mythology, which is lazy but not totally shocking for a fancy box set. The scratch and sniff card thing sounds rough though, at least you got a headache instead of a wrong location!
