My buddy said skip the last 3 chapters of this fantasy series, he was dead wrong
He claimed the epilogue with the mirror realm and the talking crow totally ruined the whole trilogy, but after I finished it last night I realized the crow was just foreshadowing the real villain all along, and now I can't even trust his other recommendations... has anyone else had a friend give terrible ending advice that backfired?

I had a friend tell me the last season of this one show was garbage and to just stop after season 3, so I did and spent like two years thinking the show fell off. Then my roommate made me watch season 4 and it turned out to be the best part, the whole thing with the brother coming back was set up from episode one. I was so mad because I'd been telling people for years not to bother finishing it. Now I double check everything he says before I skip anything. Dude just has weird taste I guess.
