Just finished a Stephen King book where the ending was a giant turtle
I was reading The Dark Tower series and got to the end of book 4, and out of nowhere a giant turtle shows up to explain everything. I was sitting in my living room in Columbus, just staring at the page for like 5 minutes. I think King was just tired of writing and said 'screw it, turtle time.' Has anyone else hit an ending that felt like the author just gave up?

yeah i had a similar thing happen with a different book actually. it was like the author wrote themselves into a corner and just threw in some random magical nonsense to wrap it up. i put the book down for a few days and then came back to it, but i skipped the last 20 pages or so and just read the ending online. that way i didnt have to sit through the weird turtle stuff again. sometimes you just gotta admit the ending is dumb and move on.
