Wasted $300 on a 'reunion specialist' who just sent generic emails
I was feeling desperate to find my son and hired someone online who promised a 'personalized search'. All they did was copy-paste the same email to three different agencies, which I could have done myself in an afternoon. Has anyone actually had a good experience with a paid search service, or is it better to just do the legwork yourself?

That's a tough spot to be in, especially when you're already stressed. Did they give you any sort of report or proof of what they actually did, or was it just those three emails? It makes you wonder how many of these services are just taking money from people in a bad spot.

Honestly used to believe most of these services were legit, but a friend had a nearly identical thing happen. They paid for "credit repair" and just got a few generic form letters in return, no real proof of any work. It really does feel like a whole industry built on empty promises when people are desperate. Makes you question the whole system.
