Finally watched The Bear after my coworker kept pushing it

My buddy at the warehouse in Cleveland told me I was missing out for months, so I finally caved. He specifically said the episode "Review" (season 1 episode 7) would change how I look at stressful shows, and he was right. After that one, I binged all 3 seasons in under 2 weeks, which I never do. Has anyone else had a friend give them a specific episode that made them commit to a whole series?

Wait are you saying you actually watched all 3 seasons in under 2 weeks? I thought pulling that off was basically impossible since season 2 alone is like 10 episodes of pure anxiety. The "Review" episode is legit legendary though - that kitchen timer sound still haunts me when I close my eyes. My friend made me watch "Fishes" first and I almost quit because of how intense it was, but then I got hooked.

Oh man, I gotta respectfully disagree with you on the "Fishes" thing. That episode is actually what made me love the show even more because it explained SO much about why everyone in that family is so messed up. But I get why it would make someone want to quit, it's like being trapped in a room with your own loudest relatives for an hour. Back to "Review" though, I actually think that episode is kind of overrated compared to some of the quieter moments in season 2 like when Sydney has her meltdown in the kitchen. The timer sound is annoying but what really got me was how Richie's whole arc turned out, that guy went from being my least favorite character to someone I actually rooted for.

lol @thompson.finley is actually kinda right about the season 2 thing, cause season 2 has 10 episodes and season 3 has 10 too, so combined with season 1's 8 that's 28 episodes in 14 days. Not impossible but yeah you really had to commit. I get what you're saying about "Fishes" tho, I think it's a masterpiece but I also totally get why people tap out there. The thing with "Review" for me was how it just grabs you by the throat from the first second and doesn't let go. Meanwhile "Fishes" takes a minute to build up that dread, which is why some people bounce off it.
