Can we talk about how I thought 'The Bear' was just a cooking show?

Honestly, I skipped it for months because I thought it was just a stressful show about a kitchen. My friend in Chicago finally made me watch the first episode, and the scene where Carmy fixes the sandwich completely changed my mind. It's way more about family and pressure than just food. Has anyone else had a show they totally misjudged like that?

Yeah, that sandwich scene is where it really gets you.

Wait no, it's the COFFEE scene that wrecks you. The sandwich is sad, sure, but when he's just sitting there holding the two mugs? That's the real gut punch. It's so quiet and normal, and that's what makes it awful. The sandwich is obvious crying material, but the coffee is where you feel the empty house. That scene sticks with me way more.
