Went from hating disc brakes to loving them after one muddy ride

I was dead set on rim brakes forever, but after a 40-mile ride in the rain last month where my pads were useless for the last 10 miles, I finally caved. Swapped to a used set of hydraulic discs and I can stop on a dime even in a downpour now. Has anyone else had a similar conversion moment?
