I finally walked into a shop in Austin that had a 'free wheel truing Tuesday' sign
Turns out they meant literal wheels, not spokes. I brought in a bent rim from my commuter, and the guy spent 45 minutes teaching me how to use a spoke wrench instead of just doing it. Anyone else ever misread a shop's weird promotion?

That sounds like a great deal, actually. Free 45 minute lesson is awesome.

Right? A whole 45 minutes for free is pretty generous. Most places barely give you 15 minutes to test the waters. You could actually figure out if you click with the instructor before committing any money.
