The Tuesday I cut 14 heads and finally got my fade blend right
Last Tuesday at the shop on Main Street in Dayton, I had 14 guys in the chair and every single skin fade came out clean on the first pass. I'd been fighting my transition line for weeks, and it just clicked when I slowed my clipper hand down and stopped rushing the lever work. My 4pm guy, Marcus, looked in the mirror and said it was the best fade he'd had in years. Any of you ever have a day where the muscle memory just shows up out of nowhere?
So did you frame the clippers and hang them on the wall after that? 14 heads in one day is a grind by itself, but every fade landing clean on the first pass is the kind of day that makes you think the clippers are haunted. Usually when muscle memory shows up out of nowhere it's because I finally stopped thinking about the lever and just let my hand do the thing. Then the next day I'll butcher a taper on a 6 year old and get humbled right back down to earth. Marcus saying it's the best fade in years is a solid receipt though, that guy would lie to be nice but he wouldn't say that.
