My 10-year-old student told me my chocolate chip cookies were 'too perfect'

I was handing out some cookies I baked for the class, and one kid, Jake, looked at his and said, 'Mr. Perry, these are good... but they're too perfect, like from a factory.' He asked if I ever just 'messed them up' on purpose. It hit me that I've been so focused on getting everything uniform for years, I forgot the fun of a slightly wonky, homemade-looking batch. Has anyone else had a kid give them baking advice that actually made sense?

Man, kids say the wildest stuff. But maybe he's got a point, like who cares if a cookie looks perfect?
