Pro tip: My dad said to use 3/4 inch plywood for the shed floor, not 1/2 inch.
He told me last spring when I was building my 8x10 shed. I thought the thinner stuff would save me maybe forty bucks. Put it all down and within a month, it started to sag between the joists. Had to tear it out and do it over with the thicker sheets. Anyone else have a story about skimping on materials and regretting it?

Disagree, my 8x12 floor is 1/2 inch and fine after two years. Maybe @jamieh76's buddy just got unlucky with that storm.

My buddy cheaped out on roof sheathing. Big storm, big regret.

Big storm, big regret" hits the nail on the head. That's the thing with cutting corners on sheathing, it's just asking for trouble when the weather gets nasty. A few extra bucks for better material would have saved him a whole lot of headache and maybe even a new roof.
