Update: I heard a guy at the feed store say you should never give chickens kitchen scraps

He said it would make them picky and stop eating their feed. I've been giving my Rhode Island Reds leftover greens and grains for three years and they still clean their feeder every day. Has anyone else had a flock that handles both just fine?

My flock gets scraps every other day and they still go crazy for their layer pellets. That guy at the feed store is full of it.

Yeah feed store guys always have opinions. Chickens know what they need.
