Warning: a coolant hose clamp gave out on a highway drive home from work
It was one of those factory spring clamps on a 2017 Civic, just popped off and dumped coolant everywhere. I'm torn between blaming cheap parts or maybe the hose itself was swollen. Anyone else had a spring clamp fail like that?

Yeah, I've seen a few threads where people say those factory spring clamps can lose tension over time. The heat cycles from the engine might just wear them out. Might be worth swapping the rest for screw clamps while you're in there.

Ever have that happen to you on a road trip? Sounds like a real mess to deal with.

Heard about a buddy whose factory clamp gave out on the highway. Had coolant everywhere before he could pull over. Swapped all his to screw clamps after that.
