I thought stacking 50 photos was a waste of time for my old camera

My friend kept telling me to try stacking for deep sky stuff, but I figured my basic DSLR from 2015 couldn't handle it. Last month I finally tried it on the Orion Nebula, stacking 50 shots in DeepSkyStacker. The noise just melted away and I got way more detail than I ever did with single shots. It completely changed how I shoot now. Anyone have other free stacking software they like better?

Basic DSLR from 2015" is the part that got me. I honestly thought you needed much newer gear for that to work well. It's wild what the software can pull out of old cameras. You've convinced me to dig mine out of the closet.

Dig it out and check the battery first, they hate sitting unused.
