Saw my neighbor's lawn go from brown to green in 6 weeks and it messed with my head

I walked past his place every day and the grass was totally dead by mid July, rock hard dirt patch. Turns out he just watered it deep once a week at 6am and put down some basic milorganite. Has anyone else noticed a huge change from doing one simple thing differently?

Milorganite is lowkey magic lol. That deep watering schedule really does the trick too.

Milorganite actually works because of the heat drying process. Unlike a lot of bagged fertilizers that get chemically treated, that heat treatment kills weed seeds and pathogens while keeping the microbes alive. So you're basically feeding the soil biology AND the grass at the same time. Most people don't realize commercial compost isn't always heated long enough to do that properly.
