Unpopular opinion: my 50th library book this year was my least favorite
Everyone online talks about hitting a big reading milestone like it's amazing but I hit 50 books last week and most of them were just okay. The 50th was a popular thriller everyone raves about and I couldn't even finish it. Has anyone else felt disappointed after reaching a goal like that?

Happened to me with my 30th book last year. Now I just take a break from the goal numbers and read shorter books or graphic novels to reset my brain. Did you give yourself permission to stop reading it?

Flip the whole thing on its head and try reading a book you KNOW you'll hate (like a genre you never touch). I did that last year with a romance novel (not my thing at all) and it was so weirdly fresh it actually snapped me out of my slump. The bad writing made me laugh, the predictable plot kept me turning pages, and by page 50 I was either hooked or annoyed enough to finish just to complain about it (which is its own kind of fun).

Yeah, the "annoyed enough to finish just to complain about it" part is honestly relatable.
