Customer told me my dryer vent work was lazy and he was right

This guy called me back 3 days after I cleaned his vent line. Said his clothes were still taking forever to dry. I went back kinda annoyed at first, but he showed me the outside flap wasn't opening all the way. I had pushed the foil pipe back into the wall too tight and it was kinked right where it met the outside vent. Didn't even think about it when I did the job. Now I always run a test cycle and physically check the outside flap moves free before I leave a job. Made me slow down about 10 minutes per call but saved me 2 callbacks in the last month alone. Has anyone else had a customer spot something obvious you missed?

That little flap check is one of those things you don't think about until it bites you. Running that test cycle and walking outside has saved me from the same exact headache twice now.

Feel that pain (and the relief of catching it). Glad the habit has saved your tail more than once, it's one of those tiny wins that makes all the difference.

Matches half the stuff in my garage. Do the quick test, skip the easy check, regret it later. Small habits like that just keep piling up until you force yourself to actually do them.
