Tried watching anime at 1.5x speed for a week
I binged through 50 episodes of One Piece in 3 days and actually caught all the plot points. Has anyone else tried speed-watching filler arcs or is this just me being impatient?

Oh wow, 50 episodes in 3 days is a lot but I don't think 1.5x speed counts as "speed-watching" filler arcs specifically. You just watched everything faster. Filler is non-canon material that doesn't follow the manga. Watching at 1.5x doesn't make it less filler-y, it just makes it faster. You might have actually missed some stuff too because the pacing in One Piece is already weird with the anime stretching out scenes. If you really want to skip filler just look up a guide online. But honestly watching at 1.5x sounds like a good way to get through the slow parts while still getting the gist of it.

Have you tried bumping it up to 2x for the filler arcs? I speed through stuff like the long ring long land filler at 2x and it just becomes background noise while I do dishes. One Piece is brutal with its padding though, even at 1.5x some episodes still feel like they drag because they stretch 10 pages of manga into 20 minutes. My trick is to keep a tab open with the filler list so I know exactly when I can skip whole chunks.

I actually found long ring long land way better at normal speed because some of the jokes land better with the awkward pauses, even if it's technically filler. But I get what you're saying about background noise, @shah.evan, I do that with Bleach filler while I'm working. I just think 1.5x on One Piece might make you miss some of the little visual gags they add in.
