Double exposed wedding shots taught me a lesson about winding
I shot a whole roll at my cousin's wedding in Portland last summer. Loaded the camera wrong and every frame got double exposed with the next one. The bride's face ended up superimposed over the groom's bouquet toss in like 12 different ways. Now I always check the rewind knob spins when I advance after loading. Anyone else got a wedding photo fail that still makes you cringe?

grant130 said "should spin when you wind, not advance lol" and man, that's exactly the kind of technical distinction I wish I'd understood before I turned my cousin's bouquet toss into a surrealist art project. I double exposed a roll of Tri-X at a friend's backyard barbecue once because I was too busy eating a hot dog to pay attention to the rewind knob. Now my ritual is to give that little knob a paranoid little spin anytime I advance, like I'm apologizing to the camera for all the abuse I put it through.
