I keep putting landline backups in every install, call me crazy

Everyone seems to be all about cellular monitoring these days. I mean, maybe it's just me, but I think having a landline as a backup is still the way to go. Idk, I had a job where a bad storm took out cell towers for hours, but the old phone line kept the security connected. That extra step really paid off for the homeowner. So I stick with it, even if people think I'm behind the times.

Remember to stash a hand crank radio too. Found one at a yard sale last year and it's a lifesaver when the power's out for days. What's your go-to backup when the grid goes down?

Agree, being ready before the storm hits is the whole game. We keep extra food and water for the same reason. My neighbor always says local knowledge beats a dead phone every time.
