Cellular dialer test fooled me twice in Austin

Swapped a fresh communicator into a panel last Tuesday and the remote test came back clean, but the central station never got the alarm signal. Turns out the SIM was provisioned for voice only and the dialer was just reporting its own handshake, not the actual path. Anyone else trust the local test button over pulling the line physically and checking the receiver log?
