Am I the only one who thinks hardwired systems are still better than wireless for most houses?

Talked to a new guy last week who swore wireless was the future, but after helping him troubleshoot three dead sensors in a single afternoon I told him I'd take running a few extra wires over swapping batteries every six months any day.

The real kicker with wireless is how it plays with old plaster and lath walls. Ran into a job last month where a homeowner had four different wireless hubs fighting each other because the signals couldn't punch through the walls right. Hardwired stuff just works no matter how thick your walls are or how many microwaves you run. Plus tell me a wireless thermostat is going to still be working in fifteen years without a single hiccup.
