I finally found that phantom hydraulic leak on a King Air 200 after chasing it for almost 12 hours straight.
It was a tiny, hairline crack in a rigid line fitting that only seeped under full system pressure, which we finally spotted by pressurizing the system and wrapping the whole area in clean paper towels to catch the faintest mist.
