PSA: I wasted $12 on a bag of frozen fries that just turned to mush

Grabbed a big bag of generic crinkle cut fries from the store, thinking they'd be perfect for the air fryer. Cooked them at 400 degrees for 15 minutes like the bag said, but they came out soggy and pale, not crispy at all. Turns out the brand just has too much water in them, so they steam instead of fry. Has anyone found a frozen fry brand that actually gets crispy every time?

Try soaking up extra moisture with a paper towel before they go in. I always give my fries a light spray of oil too, it makes a huge difference!

My buddy tried that trick last week and his fries came out way crispier.

My grandma taught me to add a pinch of cornstarch, and @barbara385, it gives fries that perfect crunch.
