Pro tip: Check the old food court for the best light

I was reading a blog post from a guy who explores malls in Ohio, and he said he always finds the most interesting stuff left behind near the old Orange Julius stands. I went to the dead mall in my town yesterday and spent an hour just looking at the faded menus and broken chairs in that exact spot, it was wild. What's the most specific piece of mall history you've ever found tucked away somewhere?

That's a great find. Those old spots really do hold onto the past. Found a perfectly preserved 90s arcade token stuck under a bench at our local Sears before they tore it down.

Kinda depends on the spot though, @michael_baker. Some places feel more like they're just collecting dust than holding onto anything good. Maybe it's just me but that token sounds cooler than most of what gets left behind.

My uncle found a whole roll of those tokens in a boarded-up Pizza Hut. They just feel different than finding a random penny.
