Don't fall for that "vintage mall decor" reseller trap
I paid $75 for an old food court sign from a closed mall in Ohio on eBay. The pictures looked great but when it showed up the thing was just a cheap print on warped particle board. It smelled like cigarette smoke and the corners were all chipped off. Anyone else get burned buying "authentic" mall stuff online?

That "vintage mall decor" stuff is usually just junk someone pulled out of a dumpster.

Get where you're coming from, but I see it totally differently. I mean, yeah, some of that stuff is just random old junk, but a lot of it has real history and charm that you don't find in modern stores anymore. The old food court signs, the weird tile patterns, the chunky metal railings - maybe it's just me but that kind of stuff feels special because it actually lived through a time and place. Idk, I think people are finally realizing that all that mass-produced MDF furniture from big box stores is what's actually boring, not the vintage mall decor.
