Watched a guy try to stretch a 12-foot roll into a 15-foot room yesterday

He was working on a job site in Tempe, and I saw him trying to force the carpet to cover a gap that was way too big. He had maybe three inches of extra material total, but he needed a full three feet. I had to step in and explain that you can't stretch carpet more than about 1% of its length, or the backing just tears. We ended up having to seam in a new piece, which added two hours to the job. How do you guys handle it when the measurements from the sales team are just plain wrong?

I thought cash stuffing was just a TikTok trend for teens

My friend in Austin swore by her envelope system, but I figured my bank app was fine. Then I went over my grocery budget by like $80 three weeks in a row. She gave me a set of envelopes and I put $300 cash for food in one. Seeing the physical money go down made me stop buying random snacks. Has anyone else tried this old school trick and had it actually work?

My great-grandma's cast iron skillet cracked right down the middle last night

I was making her cornbread recipe, the one from 1932, and heard a loud pop from the oven. The old skillet, which had been in the family since my mom was a kid, split clean in two. I'm gutted because that pan was the secret to the perfect crust. Has anyone else had a family heirloom pan fail, and did you find a good replacement?
