My great-grandma's cast iron skillet cracked right down the middle last night
I was making her cornbread recipe, the one from 1932, and heard a loud pop from the oven. The old skillet, which had been in the family since my mom was a kid, split clean in two. I'm gutted because that pan was the secret to the perfect crust. Has anyone else had a family heirloom pan fail, and did you find a good replacement?
