Hit 500 episodes of the same comfort show and it hit different
I passed 500 episodes of Law & Order rewatches last Tuesday, and I actually counted because my streaming app keeps a tally. That's like 350 hours of the same intro music and the same courtrooms, and I didn't notice until I did the math. It made me wonder if I'm rewatching because I love it or because I'm scared to start something new. I've seen every season of SVU at least twice, and the early Stabler years feel like old friends now. Has anyone else hit a ridiculous milestone like this, and did it make you question your whole watchlist?

That comfort hoodie thing you said nailed it, @patricia_rodriguez, and it’s the same pattern I see everywhere now, people sticking with the same coffee order or the same gym playlist for years. It’s not fear, it’s just building a little corner of the world that doesn’t surprise you, and that’s worth something.

Wait, is that counting just SVU or the original Law & Order too? Because I used to think people who rewatched stuff that much were missing out on all the new shows out there, you know, like they were stuck in a loop or something. But honestly, this post kinda changed my view on that. I did the same thing with The Office, hit like 400 episodes before I even realized it, and honestly it wasn't fear of new stuff, it was just comfort like wearing your favorite hoodie. Watching something you know inside out is a whole different kind of pleasure, and if that means hearing "dun dun" 500 times, that's totally valid.
