Rant: finally hit 100 weird covers collected and my spare room now looks haunted

Hit my 100th odd cover from a library sale in Ohio, and now every guest asks if I'm running some kind of cursed bookstore, has anyone else's hobby crossed into full-on creepy territory?

cursed bookstore" is honestly the best compliment you could get at this point. I've got a shelf dedicated to weird religious pamphlets and a whole corner of that "What Is The Occult?" style cookbook hybrids. You haven't truly crossed the line until you start organizing them by vibe instead of author, like "impending doom" vs "mildly unsettling". I did that last month and now my spouse refuses to enter the room without a flashlight. The library sale people probably think I'm building some kind of research archive for a horror novel, but really I just love how a 1972 book on mushroom foraging has zero practical advice and just pictures of angry looking fungi.

man I don't know, it sounds like you're just collecting junk at this point. like the mushroom book thing, that's kind of funny but organizing by "vibe" is a stretch. I've got some weird books too but they just sit on a shelf, I don't build a whole system around them. your spouse bringing a flashlight into the room seems like a bigger red flag than any of the books honestly.
