My uncle's comment about Stardew made me rethink my whole save file

Last weekend my 62 year old uncle saw me playing Stardew Valley and said 'you're just doing chores with better lighting,' which stung because he's not wrong. I realized I spend most of my in-game time optimizing crop layouts and checking the calendar instead of actually wandering around or talking to villagers. Does anyone else catch themselves turning a chill game into a spreadsheet simulator, or have you found a way to just let the days go by slow?

Is it bad that my first thought was 'at least your uncle didn't point out how many spreadsheets I have open on my second monitor'? I literally have a notebook next to my couch for Stardew, with little color coded boxes for each season's crops, and I still forget to water half my plants. The worst part is I tell myself I'm gonna just chill and fish one day, then I see a random wiki page about golden walnuts and suddenly it's 2am and I've planned out my entire Ginger Island strategy. My farm is a mess but my calendar is pristine, so I guess that's who I am now. It's like the game knows I can't relax unless I'm making a to do list for my to do list.
