The pop-up shop in Portland that made me question my pricing strategy

So I was at this little weekend market in Portland last month, just scoping out what other sellers are doing. One booth had these handmade candles priced at $28 each and they were selling out. Meanwhile my online pricing is like $12 for similar stuff because I keep thinking cheaper means more sales. But watching people line up for the higher priced items made me wonder if I'm just leaving money on the table or if the in-person experience is what's driving that difference. For those of you who sell online, did you ever test raising prices and see what happened? Or is $12 the sweet spot for digital products and I'm just overthinking a random market crowd?

Last spring I bumped my prints from $15 to $25 just to test the waters and honestly thought nobody would bite. First week was dead quiet, then a local blog featured one of my pieces and suddenly the higher price was the whole draw. People kept saying it felt more like "real art" at that number, which was wild to me. I mean, the cost to make it didn't change at all, but the perceived value totally did. That market crowd probably wasn't a fluke, cheap can read as low quality especially for handmade stuff. Maybe try raising one or two items to $18 or $20 and see if your regulars even blink.
