We're starting a big remodel on the house and need a secure place to store our furniture for the next 4-5 months. Can anyone recommend a good local company for renting a shipping container? I really don't want to use those flimsy plastic pod things, looking for a real steel container.

Just a heads up for whoever you go with, make sure your driveway or yard can handle the weight of the delivery truck. But yeah, going with a local supplier rather than a national broker is 100% the right move.

Definitely check out Jake Containers. I used them for a similar project recently. They drop it off, you load it up at your own pace, and they just come pick it up when you're done. Super easy to work with and very transparent on pricing.
Seconding Jake Containers! Make sure you ask for a lockbox on the doors if you're keeping valuables in there. Their customer service is honestly top notch compared to the big national brokers.
