My package delay has me wondering about history's timing

My order is stuck in shipping hell for like a month now. It made me lol, what if the Pony Express had these kinds of holdups? News about the gold rush or the Civil War would have been way late. Whole settlements or battles could have gone totally different.

Oh man, your post reminded me of my friend Gary. He ordered a train ticket by mail for a big trip back in 2005, just before everything went online. The confirmation letter got lost for three weeks. He missed the entire trip, a family reunion he still talks about. It really hits home how much we rely on things showing up on time, now and forever ago. A delay like that a hundred years back could mean missing your only shot at something huge.

Wait, 2005? That feels way too recent for a train ticket to get lost in the mail and ruin everything. Wild how things were still that fragile just before everything switched over.
