My mood board hit 50 images before I even started the logo
I was just gathering ideas for a new cafe brand, and I kept saving stuff to my digital board. When I checked the count, it was at 50 pictures. It felt like too much, but then I saw a clear color and shape pattern I hadn't noticed before. It made picking a direction way easier. Do you guys ever find a sweet spot for how many images to collect?

Sometimes you need that many to see the pattern.

Totally get that. I once saved over 100 pins for a party theme before I realized I just really liked the color green. The pattern just jumps out at you after a while.

Wait, did you actually have 100 pins saved before you realized that? I read something a while back about how our brains trick us into thinking we need a ton of examples before we see what's really going on. It was from a psychology blog, said something about pattern recognition overload. Henry Hernandez mentioned that sometimes you need that many, and I think he's onto something, it's like your brain just needs enough data points to finally click.
