Was hiking near Sedona and noticed the red sandstone layers are way more tilted than I expected, like almost 45 degrees in some spots.
I was on the Bell Rock trail and kept looking at the cliff faces. It really hit me how those layers got pushed up that steep. Makes you think about the forces that were happening there, you know? Anyone know a good spot in Arizona to see even more extreme folding?

Check out the Chiricahua Mountains down south. The rock columns there are bent into crazy shapes, like a giant messed with them. It's wild to see.

Always figured those mountains were just another pile of rocks. Saw a picture of those bent columns last year and it totally flipped my view. Geology can be way more strange and cool than I gave it credit for. Now I kinda want to take a trip down there to see it myself.
